Last night Brandon and I went a UVU volleyball game for fun and if we wore pink we got in for free... so we had a free date night, Yea! Anywho, during half time Credit Union Bank was sponsoring a little activity and whoever wanted to participate could. The activity was this: On one side of the court was the participants, on the other side was boxes of all shapes and sizes that had prizes in them; there was small boxes, huge boxes, and tinsy tiny ones. The object of the activity was to have the people on one side serve a ball over the net and try to hit anyone of the boxes.
Well, Brandon turned to me and said why don't you do it? So I agreed and I started to go down to the court. On my way down I ran into a couple of old friends and they got talking to me for awhile until I heard the announcer say that there was only 40 second left. I hurried and ended my conversation and ran to the court. There was still about 5 or so more people in front of me and we were running out of time... and most of the boxes had been hit so there was less of a chance of hitting one!
I was now down to 2 people in front of me and we had 10 seconds left, and there was no way I was going to be able to serve a ball if I didn't go get one myself (During this frantic mode, I kept seeing Brandon standing up in the bleachers, signing HURRY! HURRY!!) haha
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4... I see a ball! I run grab the ball.. 2... throw the ball above me 1... my ball flying over the net... and.............. (hey I can't see... there is someone standing in front of me... where did my ball go!!!)..................
THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!!!
I had just hit the tinsy tiny box on the other side of the net and the announcer says! SHE HIT IT!!! Should we give it to her??? crowd: YES!!!!
I couldn't believe that just happened, I guess all those practices in High School paid off,
I had just one a $10 gift certificate to itunes... wow it was pretty awesome, I felt like I had just won the game single handed with 10 seconds left in the game..

I would have loved to have seen that. Funny story, thanks for sharing
great job shelby! I knew all that practice was worth it!
I heard that there were some USA volleyball recruits at the event, so don't be surprised if you get a call.
That is so cool!! You would think for a tiny box like that, it would have been a more expensive prize huh?
Spare of the moment hits always seem to work out the best, whatever it is you are playing.
Congrats!!
Way to go Shelbs! What a fun story! It makes it more amazing the fact that you had so much pressure! I'm impressed!
By the way I loved the spiders they were delicious! Seriously!
you should see her tell it in person! ha
