So i've been playing around with chalkboard paint and I've been having a lot of fun. I had two old frames that I really didn't like. So I painted them and to made them into something new.
The first frame I didn't take a before picture, but it was on just a plain oak color. And so I aged it a little, sewed a burlap pocket and wha la. A new Menu board.
This frame was hideous before. But after a lot of paint it worked out, and I added some more chalkboard paint to embellish it.

wow shelby! you definitely have some talent!
So cute. I'm going to have to copy you. You are quite the decorator.
And this is my third try at making a comment. Whew.
You have got to be one of the most creative people I have ever met. Honestly. Your pictures are always crisp and fun, your sewing and crafting ability always seem to astound me. Keep it coming woman! I love it all
I love how you use items that you already own and just make them better and more pleasing. Crafty!
L.O.V.E what a darling idea. I absolutly love the burlap bag. What a darling idea to have papers for notes... i'm assuming.. and the way that you painted it vintage. love it.
Now you need to write a tutorial on how you aged the frame, and created that burlap bag. I might be stealing your idea :)
Loved these ideas! They are so fun! I might just have to copy you someday...

Shelby, you should check out this website. You can even post some of the great ideas you have which are shared.
There are some really great LDS quotes and vinyls as well.
I have a can of chalkboard paint just waiting for me in the basement! I even have the perfect frame...just need the time to finish the project! I love what you did with yours!
These are both lovely makeovers but that first one is so beautiful! Is that one of those old wood calendar frames from the 80's??
