Because She Does, Thursday
Barbara sent me this beautiful tribute to her mom- very sweet and I am so happy to post it today...
How do I begin to describe someone who impacted my life the way my mother did? She was a woman of faith, grace, compassion and believed in people. So many sat at her knee - people of all ages, and entrusted her with their deepest secrets, seeking her wisdom. Her gift was to see past whatever their frailties might be to that wonderful inner strength God had given them. She associated with celebrities and world leaders, but she was just as delighted in the company of the new friend she made at the grocery store. She taught me to find the good in other people. She taught me to find the good in myself. She taught me to value another person's point of view and she taught me how to handle adversity with grace. She gave freely of her talents, worldly goods, love and appreciation. She never let a day go by without telling me how much she loved me and how proud she was of me. She was gentle and kind, but had the heart of a lion when she saw an injustice. She was able to forgive - completely. She was loved by a great many people, but I have the honor of calling her "Mother." I hope to be half the woman she was. Ruth Marie Bailey March - "Mia" - Mom, you'll always be in my heart. Your 96 years were well lived. Heaven, I suspect, is proud to welcome it's Angel home.
