My listy list:
1. Elephant & Piggie by Mo Williams: This is our all time favorite series! If you haven't read any of these books you need to run to the library (or amazon) now to get it. They are hilarious and so much fun to read. Daxton has like 4 of the books memorized because he loves them so much. Our favorite book out of the series is "We are in a Book!". The first time I read it I cried, because I was laughing so hard.
2. Children Make Terrible Pets by Peter Brown: This book has amazing details, from the story line to the pictures. Its a simple, funny, and a sweet story about a young bear who finds a boy in the woods and decides to keep him has a pet. Daxton really loves getting into this story.
3. The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Paster: Tayte and Daxton loves this book because of all the fish, and the glittering scales. And I love this book because it teaches my boys the importance of sharing and how it makes you feel. And even though I'm a grown up, every time I read this book it always gets me thinking about some different aspect of my life. Whether or not I am hoarding something that could be given away. Therefore, its a win win book where we all learn and enjoy it.
Ashley has a great list as well, and you really should go over there and see it...
Plus, I just think Ashley is the sweetest! She has become a great friend through blogging and I always look forward to her styling post and how she can make any look good. And her and I always talk about if we lived closer our boys totally would be friends! come on teletransptorter.
So since we are talking books, what are some of your favorite Children books?

Hello, Shelby! I've headed over from Ashley's blog..and I think she's the best too :)!
We're a family of readers as well and our go-to books right now are Goodnight Moon and Green Eggs and Ham! I'll definitely have to check out the books you suggested during our library run next week!
Take care,

So cute! My boys are the same ages as yours. They are hooked on Richard Scarry, especially his Best Word Book Ever.
Great picks! We love Elephant & Piggie in our house. Other favorites in our house are "More Bears", the classic "Berenstain Bears", & The Biggest Thing in the Ocean!

I am a former elementary school librarian and one of my favorite parts of my job was reading to the students.
Leonardo, The Terrible Monster by, Mo Willems.
I Want My Hat Back and This Is Not My Hat by, Jon Klassen
Guji Guji by Chih-Yuan Chen.
All of the books listed above were class favorites. The three books you wrote about were also class favorites.
Reading to your children is such a terrific way to spend part of your day. How fortunate your boys are to have a mom who reads to them.

I am an teacher of young children. Your boys will LOVE "Pet the Cat" by Eric Litwin and James Dean. THe book comes with a free download on the internet. My class sings the song over and over! There are other books in the series as well but start with Pete the Cat- I Love My White Shoes
I loved it in 2nd grade and at 54 years old still love the Mrs Piggle Wiggle series of books (remember for when Daxton and Tayte are a bit older).. Since I grew up with the 45 rpm books and records, I loved the Poky Little Puppy and the children I babysat loved the Bernstein Bear books. So much out there for everyone these days... I would love to hear the Children Make Terrible Pets one myself!
My favorite book as a child was "who wants an old teddy bear". I think I wore out 3 copies! Also, " corduroy" which is about a teddy bear who spends the night in a department store!
Totally loving all these suggestions!! Really I need to make sure I check out these books!
Jessie- we too need to meet in real life, and have a play date with our boys!!
Goodnight Gorilla, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Tops and Bottoms, pretty much anything by Dr. Seuss (but especially Hubert Humperdink - Not Him!,Fox in Socks, and Wacky Wednesday). With three kids, ages 19, 15, and 9, we've read (and purchased) a LOT of books over the years. Of all the ones I remember reading, those are the ones my kids asked for the most.
