My mother was really into celebrating all Holidays, and do all sorts of fun things for us kids. I am not as good as keeping up her traditions but every now and then I really try. One of the things I remember growing up with was a scary Halloween Dinner. So it just so happened that last week we decided to keep up that tradition and get us all in the Halloween mood. The two boys had so much fun helping me and surprisingly did really good at making it! [Like the broomsticks you will see below, Daxton did those mostly by himself!]
Can't believe that Halloween is already almost here! Are you ready? We having been slowly losing pieces of Daxton's costume so we will see what we end up being for Halloween on Friday. (!)

SO fun! Traditions are the best, and your kids will never forget this (just like you never forgot.) I need to do a better job about keeping up with, and making new traditions for my family.
wow you out did me for sure. That food looked amazing! Nothing beats the scary dinner for Halloween. I can tell your boys loved it.
WOW so cute Shelby! What a great and creative way to celebrate Halloween :)
I'm sure your boys had a lot of fun with this! Good luck with Daxton's costume - sometimes the last minute "what can I substitute for that missing piece?" turns out to be the best addition to the costume!! Amy
One of our favorite Halloween traditions was crepe paper pumpkins! I would gather small tootsie rolls and other candies, coins, small toys like matchbox cars, Barbie doll accessories, etc, and lots of orange crepe paper rolls.
I would start with a bundle of chocolate kisses and wrap the crepe paper around, tucking in other treats and toys as I went. When the "pumpkin" was about the size of a cantaloupe, I taped it off and added a green crepe stem. The kids had so much fun unwrapping their pumpkins and finding all the goodies and afterwards, had a blast draping themselves in all that crepe paper!
