On the Go + Resqueeze

When Benson started solids, I knew I wanted to make his baby food because it is a little more healthier for him. I just started small and would make his rice/oatmeal cereal then I moved onto veggies and fruits. It seemed so daunting to me before but now its so simple and easy that it was a no brainer. For me it was getting over the hump of figuring out when I needed to make it, what it was and how. So below I have some of my foods that I tried out that have really worked well for us, that I thought I might share.

And because of my older boys we are forced more to get out of the house because of their schedule. I knew i needed a way to tote around Bensons food without it being a hassle. And that has where Resqueeze has become a perfect addition to our daily routine. We can fill it up with our own mixtures, and once its done we clean it out and its all ready for another use. I just am grateful people have thought about certain products that make being a mom just a tiny bit easier.

Strawberry, Banana Green Smoothie
This is my go to in the mornings. Our green smoothies usually look like this because this is what i always have on hand. Its simple and easy and our boys love it.
1 Banana
Handful of frozen Strawberries
1 cup Almond milk or water
4 cups Spinach
Lemon juice and a tiny bit of the rind (it just gives it that little kick!)

Blend it all up in whatever blender you have!

Pear Sauce
8-10 pears pealed, cored and sliced
1/4 cup of water
2 teaspoons of Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon of Cinnamon (optional)

1. Combine pears, water, lemon juice, cinnamon in  a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until pears have softened, about 25-30 minutes.
2. Use an immersion blender to process the pear sauce until smooth. If you prefer a chunky pear sauce, mash with a potato masher.

Steamed Broccoli, Carrots and Peas
1. Steam any veggies either by a steamer, or in a pot over the stove. Once they are soft I put the vegetable into a bowl and immerse a hand blender in. When Benson was little I would add water to make it more liquid like. The older he got the chunkier I left it.

BlueBerries and Greek yogurt.
Because Greek yogurt is pretty tart I would add a handful of blueberries to a bowlful of yogurt and blend it together.

Avocado and Banana
Blend Avocado and Banana together either with a fork or blender. Ready to serve.

we love those reusable packs!!! And look at Benson. So big! I like to give the girls peanut butter on a spoon and these apple sauce and spinach muffins. Everyone eats those though so they are lucky to get one or two :) And energy bites. Those are amazing.
