More Family Visits

The past few weeks have been filled with family visits and I didn't expect that I was going to be filled with so much emotion from their visiting.  Having family come one right after the other was quite a roller coaster and I didn't expect the joy, the laughter, the deep conversations and love that would accompany each visit. Then when each pair of family left I was torn, and felt a piece of my life went missing. Both Daxton and I would just hold each other after seeing them off and shed some tears. I would try to be brave as he told me he was sad, and didn't want his friends to go.

As  much as I love this adventure we are on here in Boston, to have new uncharted territory be explored with just our little family. It has been equally hard being so far away from family. Having the joy knowing my babies were making relationships with Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It's wild to love something so much but also feel so much missing. Its a beautiful process, because it refines and makes relationships even stronger. It helps me to not take things for granted and to remember the importance of life.

We took Don and Jessi to Maine, one of Don's lifelong goals. It was a really beautiful day and we even got
lobster while in Maine.

After living back east for a few years, I will never take living near family for granted ever again! :) Beautiful beautiful pictures.

We have been here six years now, and even with all the new friends and history and adventures, there is great sadness to be so far away from our dear family. I understand those tears you shed with Daxton and have shed my own, as well. Thank you for your tender honesty. It is nice to feel the comfort of sharing parallel experiences.

I love the picture of Daxton with the ice cream right in front of his face!

Someday I want us to come visit you, and I want you to take us to Maine. It looks so gorgeous.

Family to enjoy is the best, especially this far from you? to me about my brother, sister and my nieces, as they are missing. Kisses and happy last Wednesday morning Friday.

It looks like fun was had by all!
I too understand the pangs of living far from family even though you know that you are where you're supposed to be at this chapter of your life. I also understand the joys of having family and friends come to visit. It is so fun to see them arrive and bittersweet to see them go. We had family visit last weekend, and we have family coming in tomorrow! Can't wait!
