San Francisco

To do in San Francisco
For Brandon's 30th birthday, we celebrated by taking a 4 day trip to San Francisco. It was so much fun just being us and our third wheel baby. :) But by the fourth day we were really missing our boys and couldn't wait to get home to them. Its amazing what little trips with your sweetheart does for your relationship and I'm so glad I got to spend this time with Brandon. Below are some activities we did, some tips and wait for it... a film!! We just got a GoPro for Brandon's birthday and so that is what we used to film our trip!

What we did in San Fransisco:
Activities
-Painted Ladies
-Ocean Beach
-Golden Gate Park- dutch windmills
-Lands End- ruins of the sutro baths
-Pier 39
-Fishermans warf
-Rent bikes at Sports basement cheapest option
ride across Golden Gate bridge and ride go up to the view point or to Saucilito

-Presidio- Andy Goldsworthy art pieces
-Shopping at Union square
-Coit Tower
-Ghirardelli square
-Lombard Street
-Chinatown

Food
-Tony's pizza
-Tu-lan Vietnamese food. Its in the Tenderloin so make sure to only go there in the day!
-ikes Sandwich
-Nicks Crispy Tacos
-Super Duper

Tips
-Use Uber not Taxi's, cheaper and more efficient or go even cheaper and use the bus system. That is how we got across to Lands End/ painted ladies

-Look on groupon for a specials on Hotels. We stayed at the Mosser in Union Square for $75 a night and it was a pretty nice place.

Enjoy walking. We walked everywhere about 12 miles a day and even though our feet hurt at the end of the night we loved it! As a good friend of mine said, when you walk so much, part of the city belongs to you. You become part of its history.  And I totally felt like that, we really got to know the city, the people and the culture of San Fran. We would run into so many awesome people. One time we had just finished lunch and a girl with her niece were walking home from school and we ended up talking and walking with them all the way to the next destination we had. They gave us great tips and an insight into the life of SF.

-----------

We didn't bring our camera which was so weird for me (At times I kind of regretted not having it). Instead we brought Brandon's new GoPro which forced us to learn it, and our phones to document the trip. Looks like a fun trip! I love San Francisco.

I think having a gopro is a great idea for vacations like this - I always sort of wish I could leave my camera behind because it's big and annoying to cart around, but know I'd still want pictures. Looks like you had the best of both worlds!

Beautiful pics Shelby and Happy belated birthday Brandon! We were in SF last July but we missed some of the places y'all went so this calls for a reason to go back again! Thanks for sharing!

Oh how I love The City! I was born there and have always lived about 45 minutes away. (But the last 12 years, I have lived 1 1/2 hours away). Staying in the hostels (SF has two!), is quite an experience! And much cheaper! Next time you go, head on up a little ways and visit Muir Woods. Man I love that place and a photographers paradise!!
Thanks for sharing your life on this blog. I love it!
