Crafting with the boys
I've been trying to incorporate crafts more with my kids. Ever since Daxton went to preschool he loves crafts and is always begging me to do them with him. So when I lay Benson down for a nap in the morning I really try to do a craft with the boys. That way I can try to spend more time with them both and find moments to teach them. Happy Heart Kids is a company that creates packages filled with crafts but not only that the crafts teach them a good principle. The one we worked on together was Empathy.
Empathy is word I hope my kids come to know. Its kind of a big word for little ones to understand, but it was nice because in the package it had cues for parents to help teach their little ones a more basic understanding about having empathy. There were also ideas of game you can play to have a better understanding of what empathy means. And the boys really loved the crafts and the games.

We made roses to give to another person. We tried to think of people who would like the roses and why we would give them. I've notice that both Daxton and Tayte are really good at thinking of others feelings already, so when I asked them who to give them to they were quick with their responses. It was really sweet to hear and watch them get excited to give the roses.

Making faces of how we feel when certain things happen to us and others.

There was a story also that the boys got to color that taught them in story format of how we can have more empathy. Super cute!

Excited to start this new week! Hope yours is off to a great start!
